The Bullmastiff is a large, powerful working breed originally developed in 19th-century England to guard estates and deter poachers. Bred from a combination of Bulldogs and Mastiffs, the breed was valued for its strength, courage, and ability to quietly track and hold intruders without unnecessary aggression. Bullmastiffs are known for their imposing presence, muscular build, and natural protective instincts. Despite their size and strength, they are typically calm, steady, and thoughtful dogs that prefer to assess situations before reacting.
